Starlink Is Coming to the Southwest Airlines Fleet

Southwest Airlines has announced that it will integrate SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet system into its fleet to modernize its in-flight connectivity services. Under the technical agreement, the airline aims to offer passengers high-speed, low-latency wireless internet access. With the Starlink integration, Southwest customers will enjoy much faster download speeds and a more stable, uninterrupted connection compared to traditional onboard Wi-Fi systems.

According to the latest data shared by SpaceX, Starlink has already been installed on more than 2,500 aircraft worldwide, including commercial airlines, business jets, and private aircraft. In addition to Southwest, major carriers such as United Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Air France, British Airways, and Hawaiian Airlines are also among the operators that have signed agreements to use Starlink across their fleets. Thanks to its low Earth orbit satellite constellation, Starlink continues to provide global coverage, including during transoceanic flights.
